Abstract
Patient safety is at the heart of clinical practice and clinical service delivery. Various models to assess patient safety and quality (PaSQ) of care exist for effective healthcare delivery. Both EU and non-EU Member States including international organisations have a platform that was set to ensure efficient exchange of information relating to optimising patient safety and quality of care.
Recently the efficiency of these tools for promoting information exchange has been demonstrated in projects such as the European Network for Patient Safety (EUNetPaS) as well as other EU- funded projects such as SIMPATIE, MARQUiS, Value+, Handover etc.
In this assessment of best practice we build on the methods and results of the joint action PaSQ tools, describing work packages that support PaSQ implementation and evidence of impact with clear sustainability pathways discussed.
