Abstract
There is a need to move from the notion of R&D being the responsibility of
high–income countries to it being a
shared responsibility: low– and middle–income countries need to rise to
the challenge of creating a new, sustainable global R&D model for the future. Globalisation and changing disease patterns necessitate a joint,
global effort to battle, inter alia, antimicrobial resistance.
