Abstract
This manual presents the process and results of the ESPRIT project's pilots on
socially engaged curriculum. The different sections outline various models of
socially-engaged courses from different disciplines in Israeli academic institutions.
It includes principles and practical tools, which could be implemented in different
ways in courses that combine theory, practice and community involvement.
Insight into the dilemmas and complexities of community-academic relations
has the potential to open a dialogue and deepen the understanding of the function
and implications of these types of courses. The tools and concepts presented are
fexible, and thus are suitable for a wide range of course models.
