Abstract
This editorial article introduces a Special Issue of Applied Thermal Engineering dedicated to the 6th International Conference on Energy, Ecology and Environment (ICEEE 2023), held from 13 to 19 of August 2023 in Clayton Hotel, London, UK. The conference welcomed over 200 participants from 12 countries and featured a rich scientific programme, including plenary and keynote lectures, four special sessions, and 79 published proceedings. The eight articles selected for this Special Issue focus on topics such as phase change material-based thermal management, lithium-ion battery thermal regulation and computational optimization methodologies, reflecting a curated sample of the high-quality research presented at the event. These contributions demonstrate innovative approaches to thermal management challenges and reflect the increasingly interdisciplinary nature of energy systems research, bridging materials science, fluid dynamics, and computational methods.
