Abstract
There continue to be significant advances made in the field of lung cancer improving survival outcomes for patients. In this podcast, Dr Jonathan Lim (a member of the European Society for Medical Oncology Young Oncologists Committee) discusses with Prof. Ben Solomon (professor of thoracic medical oncology) his highlights on lung cancer so far in 2021.
Prof. Solomon summarises key practice-changing studies so far this year, in particular, with updates from IMpower010 (adjuvant), CheckMate 816 (neoadjuvant) and CheckMate 9LA (metastatic) phase III clinical trials in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). They also discuss where we are at with targeting KRAS and some of the more novel agents to watch out for on the horizon. Finally, Prof. Solomon shares his opinion on what remains the key challenges in managing NSCLC in our daily practice and the future outlook in the field.
