Abstract
The identification, assessment, control and management of risk are critical for the effective and safe delivery of all medical and healthcare practices. Previous global summits have highlighted the holistic need for incorporating governance that ensures patient safety is improved. Similarly, the need to keep the workforce safe while ensuring patient safety necessitates effective compliance with rules and regulations. This minimises legal disruptions to effective care delivery. In this brief communication, the hospital quality and patient safety team at the WHO Europe present an organisation-wide template for governance risk and compliance.
