Abstract
Emergency preparedness refers to civil, organisational and governmental contingencies incorporating statutory and non-statutory regulations that are set-up in the workplace to enable the effective delivery of processes including healthcare in the case of a disaster or emergency crisis. All healthcare institutions need to prepare for and respond to emergencies that may arise
with a prime example being the current SARS-CoV-2 pandemic that required significant infrastructure mobilisation. In this best practice briefing, the Quality
Assurance and Patient Safety Agency presents an example best practice approach highlighting key strategic level aspects and planning needed for
